Downtown Burj Khalifa

The word Burj Khalifa, factually means Khalifa Tower and it was formerly known as Burj Dubai or Dubai Tower, which was later changed to Burj Khalifa when the tower was officially opened on January 4th, 2010. Khalifa is coined out from the name of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Maktoum, who is president of United Arab Emirates.

According to Mohamed Ali Alabbar, chairman of Emaar Properties stated that the total estimate for the project cost almost US$1.5 billion. Burj Khalifa Tower is the new development called Downtown Dubai.  The tower’s architecture and engineering were held by Skidmore, Owings, Merrill of Chicago, and Samsung C&T of South Korea inclusive.
